What is Nordic Walking?
Nordic Walking originated out of cross country skiing as a way of enabling skiers to maintain fitness during the summer months. Nordic walking uses specially designed poles (not to be confused with standard walking poles) to propel the walker along.
As well as improving cardiovascular fitness, the classes also include exercises to improve balance, corordination, strength and flexibility.
Done correctly, Nordic Walking provides many benefits over ordinary walking. Correct technique can be learnt either through attending one of our regular group sessions or one to one training sessions at a location convenient for you.
